Anthony Bernard Williams

Anthony B Williams was born on March 13,1959 in Washington D.C. to the late Reverend Alfred Williams Sr. and Ruby Jean Williams. He was one of four children; Quintina Williams-Brown, Demetria Williams, and the late Alfred Williams Jr. Anthony was affectionately referred to as “Tony” by his friends and family. He was educated in Philadelphia, Pa at Martin Luther King High where he received his High School Diploma. Tony was blessed to have three children Lashea Williams, Lakeisha Allen-Reynolds, and his only son Antione Williams. Anthony was raised under his father pastoral leadership at the Nazareth Baptist Church where he accepted Christ at an early age & got baptized. For many years Tony worked in the field of security in various organizations, however his passion was in the music industry. Growing up as a preacher’s kid he and his brother sang on the Jr. male chorus in church. He loved to sing so much he would sing almost anywhere, and he would later become a member of many singing groups. New Image was the first group he was in with his brother Al and other members. He went on to be in other groups where he created lifelong friendships with men whom he would consider brothers. In June of 1989 Anthony and Elizabeth were married and on March 31, 2015, he had become a widower as his wife of 26yrs passed away from kidney disease. During their marriage they went through ups and downs as many people do in marriages, but they stuck together. Liz and Tony were a team that tackled life head on with their children at their side. They threw the best parties! Everyone knew it would be good food, fun and laughter, and a whole lot of singing. Tony took pride in his appearance. Not a day would go by that you wouldn’t see him without a color coordinated outfit, snakeskin or fine leather shoes, and a bush shaped to perfection. He loved a nice cologne to match as well. On his free time, he loved watching western and classic movies or listening to the persuasions while sipping on an ice-cold brew. As his health started to decline he depended on others around him to run small errands for him but he mainly depended on his children who would try to nurse him back to health. The day came when we weren’t able to give him what he needed. He stated that his missed his wife, and it seemed that all of his illnesses has suddenly surfaced the moment he spoke those words. Even in his time of crisis he went home to meet the Lord in peace. He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters Quintina and Demetria; three brother in-laws Timothy, John-Eric, and Melvin; and one sister in-law Cynthia; his children Lashea, Lakeisha, and Antione; Five grandchildren Ceyani, Robert, Dynver, Sanaa, and a new grand baby on the way Naziyah Elizabeth Stanten, and one great grandson Xion; A mother in-law Lillie Giddens and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
