Bernice Patton Smith was born on March 7th,1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Florence Patton and the late George Foster. Bernice peacefully transitioned at home with her husband on the morning of May 20th, 2024.
Benice was educated in the Philadelphia School District and went on to become a supervisor at Bell Telephone Company, where she retired from.
Benice was married to the late William Kinton, and from that union came her daughter Sharon Green. She later went on to marry William Smith and became mother to 5 more children, Billy, Tina, Gregory, Gordan, and Kevin.
Bernice was a dedicated matriarch to her family, actively caring and nurturing everyone around her. She was known for her gracious and generous loving personality, and beautiful spirit and smile.
Bernice leaves to cherish her memory: her husband William, her children Sharon, Tina, Gregory, Gordon, and Kevin. Stacy is the eldest of 19 grandchildren and Laiah is the eldest of a host of great-grandchildren. One son-in-law, Leroy. She also leaves to cherish her memory her eldest cousin George Skipper. Bernice had a host of friends too many to name, and 2 sister friends with over 40 years of friendship, Essie Gardner, and Katherine Ashlock.
