The Life of our Dear Beverly
Beverly Miles was born February 3, 1951, in Philadelphia, Pa to Woodrow and Victoria Y. Miles, both her parents predeceased Beverly. Beverly attended Philadelphia public schools and was a proud graduate of Germantown High School. On December 31st, 1975, Beverly married Bradley Williams Jr. In this union the couple had two daughters, Brenee and Brooke.
Beverly worked for the City of Philadelphia for many years then transitioned to working in Philadelphia’s night scene, working in popular establishments where she displayed her mixology skills. Beverly left that line of work and moved into education. She worked for Delaware Valley Charter High School as the school secretary for many years. Beverly eventually finished her career while working in the medical billing field and later retired from Cigna Tel-Drug.
Some of Beverly’s favorite hobbies included fishing, shopping, and celebrating her children's accomplishments. She loved traveling and getting together with family and friends. Beverly lived her life out loud, in color, and on her terms. She cultivated lifelong friendships with elementary and junior high schoolmates. They would get together annually to catch up and enjoy each other's company. Beverly simply adored being a grandmother and was an integral part of the lives of her three grandchildren Ashley, Andre and Maiya. Holidays, birthdays, weekends, and summer vacations were spent spoiling and spending time with her grandchildren.
Beverly accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior and became a member of Enon Tabernacle Church where she was baptized and actively served in their Cancer Support ministries group. When the world shut down due to the pandemic, she created a family bubble and spent as much time with her loved ones as she could all while fiercely battling cancer. Beverly fought cancer for 5 years and never complained. She kept a positive outlook and attitude and gave support to other patients she encountered, checking in with them and offering kind words of encouragement.
Beverly leaves to mourn Bradley Williams Jr., her children Brenee Greene and Brooke Williams, daughter-in-law Elle Greene, beloved Taneisha McCroskey, grandchildren Ashley Williams, Andre Williams and Maiya Cannon, sisters Edna-Mary and Paulette Miles. Sisters-in-law Camille and Denise Williams, and brothers-in-law Denny and Forrest Williams. Her devoted goddaughter Candese Combs, devoted best friend Beryl Faulk-Booth, beloved Donald Cannon and Quincy White, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
