Carrie was born to the late Mandy (Higgins) Harrison and late Floyd Harrison, Sr. She was raised in McCormick County, South Carolina. Carrie grew up surrounded by a large family of eleven children in which seven siblings preceded her in death. She was educated in the South Carolina Public school system. Carrie moved to Philadelphia at an early age and joined the Triumph Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. James S. Hall, Jr., and was as active member in the fellowship. When she was not working at Temple, she was providing meals, transportation, caring for the sick and elderly. It was in her nature to go above and beyond putting the needs of others before herself. A true Queen indeed. She also loved gardening, cooking, and spending quality time with her grandsons. Carrie joined Deborah Grand Chapter the Order of Eastern star INC in 1992 entering membership with Louisa S. Rumford Chapter No 15. She joined the order with her sister PWM Mandy Harrison who is also a member of the same chapter.
