Deacon Juneau Scott Obituary

Deacon Juneau L. Scott, born June 8, 1971, in Philadelphia, PA, was the son of the late Deacon James D. Scott and Deaconess Letta M. Scott.

He received his education from the Philadelphia School District and attended the Community College of Philadelphia.

Juneau accepted the Lord as a young child and was baptized at the age of 7 by Reverend J.N. Lavender, Pastor of Friendly Baptist Church, Philadelphia, PA where he was a long-time member.

In 1996, Juneau was blessed with a son, Naji, and enjoyed spending time with him. They enjoyed going to movies,  out to dinner, watching sports, and playing video games. Juneau would always go out of his way to see his son even when he lived hours away. And when he would see him, Juneau always made sure they created great memories.

Juneau always aspired to be a rap artist but then he realized that God had a different plan for him. One day he put his cassettes, demo tapes, and CDs in a box set it outside by the tree for trash, and dedicated his life to God.

He later joined Provision of Grace Full Gospel Church. In 2003, Juneau was ordained a Deacon by his Pastor, Reverend Tony Pritchette. He later joined Liberty Transformation Worship Center where he served as a Deacon.  Juneau was a faithful servant of God. He enjoyed reading his Bible, attending bible study and prayer service.

Juneau worked several jobs and was lastly employed by the City of  Philadelphia. Juneau was a huge sports fan. He played football as a young child.  He enjoyed watching his favorite football team the 49ers.

Juneau loved his family. He would pop up on random family members periodically. He enjoyed seeing everyone on holidays, especially eating his sister’s baked mac & cheese. Periodically he took his mother out to lunch and would always call to check on her to make sure she took her medicine.

On January 11, 2022, God called Deacon Juneau L. Scott home to be with Him.

He was preceded in death by his father Deacon James D. Scott Sr. and his brother Kevin J. Scott. He leaves to cherish his memories: His son, Naji Groover, his mother, Deaconess Letta M. Scott, his brothers Kendall (Louise), James Scott II, his sisters, Constance (Keith) Neal, Miriam (Wayne)White, Letta (Joseph) Keith all of  Philadelphia, PA and Lanae (Paul) Turner of Caney, Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
