Dennis Rershea McCain, Jr.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Rershea McCain Jr. (aka Denny) On February 15th, 2025, at the early age of 45. Denny was born on August 2nd, 1979, in Lancaster, PA to Dennis Rershea McCain Sr. and Peggy Ann (Henderson) Rosado. He was Blessed with a Bonus Father, Michael Angelo Rosado, who played a significant role in his up bringing.

Denny graduated from John Piersol McCaskey in 1998, after which he Proudly served in the United States Navy. Following his discharge, he attended Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology where he obtained a Certification in Construction Trade. Denny continued his educational journey, graduating with a bachelor's degree in business administration from Ashford University in 2019.

For over 8 years, Denny worked as a dedicated Accomplished Automated Machine Operator at National Novelty Brush Company, where his commitment and willingness to go above and beyond were evident in everything he did.

Denny was a member of Faith Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Gerald Simmons, where he found a supportive community that he cherished.

Denny’s vibrant spirit and his love for life touched everyone around him. He was the life of the party, always ready with a joke or a witty comeback. You would never know Denny was in so much pain because his smile was so infectious, lighting up every room he entered. He took pride in his appearance, always dressed impeccably, earning the reputation of being one of the best-dressed individuals around. A lifelong fan of the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Lakers, Denny’s enthusiasm for sports was infectious. Denny was not just a beloved son but also a loving father to his children. He wanted nothing more than to be actively involved in their lives, even when faced with challenges.  

Denny will forever be remembered as Den-Den by his Mother Peggy he was her first heartbeat and only son. His unmistakable greeting “This is Denny” echoes in our memories. Although he and Amarra were no longer in a relationship, she remained an important part of his life.

 Denny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert McCain Sr., Virginia McCain, Jerome Henderson, Peggy Henderson.

Denny is survived by his Parents, Dennis McCain Sr., Peggy (Henderson) Rosado, Michael Rosado; children, Daziyah McCain, Kyjmar Stennett-McCain, Ahtionne Stennett-McCain, Zariah McCain, Rershea McCain; sisters, Trenesa (McCain) Clark, Shaniqua (LaRue) Rodgers, Tarisha Rosado, Tiana (LaRue) Boyer, Latoya Rosado, Tamika Rosado, Mia Brady; brother, Damar McCain; brothers-in-law, Roger Clark, Taqwone  Rodgers, Tyrell Boyer; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends whom he cherished dearly.

Funeral Services are under the direction of Meachem & Prioleau Funeral Home, 5408 North 5th St. Philadelphia, PA. A Celebration of Life will be held at Father, Son & Holy Ghost Church 535 ½ Howard Avenue Lancaster, PA 17602 on Friday, February 28th at 9:00AM for viewing and Service will begin at 11:00AM. Denny’s final resting place will be at Mellinger Cemetary 1918 Lincoln Highway East Lancaster, PA 17602.

Following interment there will be a repass located at Crispus Attucks Community Center 407 Howard Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17602 all friends and family are welcomed to join.
