Diane Green Obituary

Diane Colrissa Green-Gilmore age 68 years old  peacefully departed this life on Monday September 1, 2025 at home surrounded by her loved ones. Diane Green was born on December 17, 1956 to the late Bessie Mae Elizabeth Waller and Robert Lee Green. She was next to the youngest of six siblings; Steven Waller and Sophie Washington. She was preceded in death by her brother's Russell, Lawrence and Mark Green. 

Diane Green-Gilmore received her education through the Philadelphia school system, a graduate of Onley High school she went on to further her education at The Community College of Philadelphia Studies Office of Science. She also attended the Urban League of Philadelphia Clerical Skills Program in which she received a clerical certificate. Through the program she gained a position at the Urban League of Philadelphia  Secretary-Counselor. She later went on to pursue a position at Temple University School of Social Work as  Administrative Assistant to the Dean’s office. Diane devoted nearly four decades to Temple University College of Public Health and School of Social Work  until her retirement, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, determination, perseverance and love throughout her career

Diane leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. She was a true celebration of all the things she loved and cherished. She was not only known for her amazing cooking skills, with her famous pasta salad being a family favorite, especially for her sister,( Sophie). She had a green thumb when it came to taking care of her plants. She was the go to hairstylist for her nieces and friends and she had a flair for singing and dancing, Kool & the Gang being one of her favorite groups. She loved basketball and football and during those seasons, that was the time she used to bond with her son Cj. Her daughter and granddaughters were her pride and joy and she cherished their girls' day out at the nail salon, shopping trips to the mall and trips to Five and Below. Oh, and she didn't miss a minute without bragging about her grandson's either. She often spent her weekend at the Farmers market with whom she called her co-pilot (Jean) and her cousin Margret Anne or just at home watching movies or the Food Network channel . Diane's life was truly one  filled with love, laughter and founded memories.

Diane Colrissa Green- Gilmore leaves this earth to mourn her Spouse Clarence Henry Gilmore, her uncle Johnny Waller, one brother Steven Waller, her sister Sophie Washington, one Sister in law Pastor Dicie Gilmore, two children Clarence(CJ) Gilmore Jr, Kisheila (Keshia) Gilmore (Mark), two bonus children Christine and Raheem, and four grandchildren Mikai(Kai Kai) Malaya, Malynah and Mason and a  host of cousins, nieces and nephews. 

As we say farewell to Diane let us remember and honor the impact she had on our lives. May the memories you share bring you comfort during this difficult time.

2 Corinthians 5:8 says, "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord".
