Elder Jed Zachary Williams

Elder Jed Zachary Williams was born October 14, 1960, to the late Eloise Williams and Ephraim Lake in Philadelphia.

Jed was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System, graduating from Roxborough High in 1970 and attended Allen University in Columbia South Carolina, taking some college courses.

At an early age, Jed embraced faith as the cornerstone of his life, beginning his spiritual journey. Jed moved around with his godfather attending various church conferences from Florida to Philly. He was ordained in 2011 at The Legacy Fellowship of Churches and Ministries. He served as an Executive Minister, Adjutant and servant leader at Well Pavillion Empowerment Center/Legacy Church worldwide from 2011-2016 under the leadership of Apostle Tammi Robinson. After finally settling in Philadelphia, Jed looked for the right church to continue learning the word of God, where he finally settled at Greater

Canaan Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C.) in 2019. When Jed arrived at that house of God, he was a minister and recognized as one before he was ordained as an elder. While at Greater Canaan, Jed was the Vice President of the Pennsylvania Keystone Jurisdiction Men’s Department. From the time Jed walked into those doors at 40th & Fairmount, he put his works into action by serving faithfully as an adjutant. While there, he also met and found the love of his life, with whom he later married.

Jed was a happy-go-lucky fella and was always seen smiling. He was a jokester and loved gaming and sports. Basically, he was an all-around fan for Philadelphia sports teams. Jed liked the comradery of getting together with other guys for fellowship and discussion. Before going into the hospital to receive his new heart, Jed had a few of his “best buds” over to watch his favorite football team, (yes, you guessed it, the E-A-G-L-E-S). He loved the concept of family and having a mate by his side who shared those same values, he was able to attend and be involved in his family reunions near and far as well as, have his

children and grandchildren over for the holidays. Jed loved hearing good music and loved to go on YouTube to watch old sermons of Bishop G. E. Patterson. One of his main passions was fishing. He was often heard by his wife saying, “I can’t wait to get these batteries out so I can get back to the water”.

Jed humbly faced various medical challenges, but did not let them stop him from living life.

Jed leaves to mourn his wife, Robbin Diane Lee Williams with whom he deeply loved; his aunts Doris, Lola, Alice and Eva; his siblings Carl, Robert (Tarani) and Tamika; his children Kyheim (Sabria), Kyif (Nancy), Raheim (Azalia), Brandon (Brittany) and Andera (Lamont); fourteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends will remember him as Uncle Jed, Zach and two special names “Jethro” and “Uncle Bam-Bam".
