Helen Ruth Wallace

It is with great sadness that the Wallace family announce the passing of their beloved mother, Helen Ruth Wallace, she was 88, and she passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026 with her children at her side.

Helen was born on February 14, 1938 in Tillman, South Carolina to Fred and Lillie Mae Moss. Helen loved being a Valentine Day baby.
Soon after Helen’s birth,
Fred Moss decided to relocate to Philadelphia, PA,

Helen lived a life centered on love, family, and education,
she was known for her great sense of humor, she was the foundation of her family and she was determined to set a positive example for her children, Three boys and Three girls, she loved them deeply.

Helen enjoyed painting, travel, cooking, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

One of her favorite stories was about how she had to drop out of high school to take care of her grandmother Sally, but Helen was determined to go back to school and earned her high school diploma.
After graduating from the Standard Evening High School in Philadelphia, Helen went on to attend Community College Of Philadelphia, majoring in public speaking, computer programming and creative writing, She also attended Temple University to study american sign language, and social psychology, moving forward, she attended the Moore College Of Art,  majoring in commercial and graphic art.
Helen had a very diverse career, she worked in accounting for AAA Travel Agency, Sears, Lit Brothers and Mellon Bank.
She was a devoted member of the United House Of Prayer and later Enon Baptist Church, where she attended Services every Sunday along with her children.
After the death of her husband, Andrew Wallace, Helen continued to be a dedicated mother, who always made sure her children never wanted for anything, I can still remember waking up on Christmas morning, just knowing that mom had made our Christmas wishes come true, and our birthdays were much the same, we all shared our birthdays together, eating homemade birthday cake, and ice cream,
Mom was an excellent cook,
and was known for her buttermilk biscuits.
And during the summer months, we would all hop in her Thunderbird, and head down to Wildwood, NJ, for a fun filled day of sunshine an amusement park rides, we can’t forget the Saltwater Taffys.
Mom never missed a chance to remind her children just how proud she was of them. She always told us that we can accomplish anything that we put our minds to.
She had a favorite short poem that I still live by today, and it was called. Good Better Best.

Good Better, Best.
Never Let it Rest.
Until Your Good Is Better.
And Your Better Is Best.

We will miss our beautiful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother deeply.

She will always be in our hearts forever and will be remembered by all who had the blessing, of knowing her.

Helen Ruth Moss Wallace, was preceded in death by her siblings, Annette, Elijah, Evelyn and Viola.

She is survived by Her Children; Vincent H. Wallace, Mae E. Wallace, Valerie H. White, David V. Wallace, Glenn M. Wallace, Sabrina B. Wallace.
Her grandchildren; J-Lynn Christian, Vincent Wallace Jr.,
Izaiah Wallace, Sahim Wallace,
Davida White, Nathaniel White, Hasheen Wallace, David Wallace Jr.
Her Great-Grandchildren;
Christopher Griffin Jr., Jonah Wallace, Quincy Wallace, Tavon Anderson Jr., Nathaniel White Jr., and her best friend and cousin, Larsenia Adams.
