The Life and Legacy of James Michael Carr
James Michael Carr was born on August 14, 1954, in Mooresville, North Carolina. He was the cherished son of Willie Marshall Carr and Wilma Carr. His family eventually moved to Philadelphia, where James attended Simon Gratz High School. He was very athletic and played on the Football team.
Friends and family would say that James was a man of quiet intelligence. He didn't say much, but when he did, it had a powerful and profound impact. James also had a mischievous side. He liked to play pranks on his family, and he kept us laughing. He loved fishing, hunting, and playing chess, and his favorite pastime was watching the EAGLES play.
James's commitment to his career was unwavering. As he journeyed in construction, he became known for his excellent talent for building and masonry. On the other hand, he was an exceptional cook and baker. His culinary skills were a testament to his passion and talent, and his dishes brought joy to many.
James wants to be remembered as a God-fearing man who loved Jesus and his family. He joined Mt. Airy Church of God in Christ, was baptized here, and worked as a servant leader in the Transportation Ministry.
God made only one James Michael Carr, and he will be dearly missed. God called him home on December 13, 2024. He was preceded in death by Gloria Carr, Willie Carr, Jr., Jarvis Carr, and Daughter Charon Carr.
He leaves to cherish his memory and legacy his son Michael Carr( wife's name); Grandson, Javon Carr; Great Grandson, Cameron Carr; Nephews, Darryl Spaddy, Ashton Spaddy, and Darryl Spaddy, Jr. Niece, Gabrielle Carr; Cousins, Harrison Whitley, Pamela Whitley, Ann Norris, Harvey Cannon, and a Special Caretaker Tyisha Bird.
