Jason Lamont McCray

Jason McCray, lovingly known as “Lil Ronnie” passed away surrounded by love on February 19, 2026 at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital. He was a fun-loving spirit with a big smile, a good heart, and a presence that brought joy, laughter, and energy wherever he went.

Born to Ronald K. Thomas Sr. and Pastor Patricia Ann Thomas, Jason was the eldest of three children. His nickname “Lil Boy,” given by his father, remained with him throughout his life—a name filled with love and connection.

Jason was educated in the New Jersey Public School System. He graduated from Burlington County Institute of Technology, class of 1993.Jason played basketball in high school, even though he was the shortest person on the team—-That never stopped him. Jason went on to become an entrepreneur, known for his hustle and creativity. He was the founder of House of Oils and also sold DVDs, always finding ways to connect with people and share what he loved.

Jason had a deep passion for cars and car customization, and it showed in every detail of his work. He didn’t just build cars—he brought them to life. From LED lighting to matching fabrics and full character-themed designs, he put his heart into every creation. He went above and beyond, making each car a true expression of his creativity.

He became well known in the tri-state area car show scene, where his standout designs drew attention and admiration. Two of his most memorable creations were his SpongeBob-themed car and his Pink Panther-themed car, both reflections of his playful spirit and artistic vision.

Jason also had a love for music and sound. As a DJ, he lived for the bass, the rhythm, and that “boom boom” that you could feel in your chest. Music was another way he expressed himself and brought people together.

He enjoyed basketball, video games, football “E.A.G.L.E.S” and living life on his own terms. He loved to laugh, loved to vibe, and loved being in spaces where he could truly be himself.

Jason was preceded in death by Father Ronald K.Thomas Sr, Mother Pastor Patricai A Thomas, Maternal Grandparents: Deacon and Deaconess Charles and Janie McCray, Paternal grandparents. Reverend Dallas Thomas Sr and Evangelist Josephine Thomas, Aunt Mamie Howard, Aunt Lee Ruth Jackson, Aunt Cynthia Smith, Aunt Valerie Rock, Uncle Erwin Rock, Uncle David McCray, and Uncle Gregory Thomas.

He leaves to cherish his memories with his daughter Ellana Monae Gaines and Chantel Smith (Philadelphia), Sister Melissa Thomas (Pa), Sister and brother in love Josephine and John Elder (Pa). One granddog Asher Robert Gaines, one nephew Jalial (Arizona), nieces Ma’Niay, Ameriah, Blake Lee and Carter Lynn (Pa).
