Joanne Duffy

Joanne Starks Duffy daughter of the late William D.Starks and Roberta Starks was born June 13th 1960 in Philadelphia PA. Joanne attended the Philadelphia school system. In her early teenage years she met and married Galen Duffy sr. And through this union Galen Duffy jr. and Terry Duffy were born. In the late 1970'S she met Vincent Hallman, and with this union Reginald Hallman, Talea Hallman, and Krystal Hallman was born. After this Union she met and married Ernest Butler and most recently married Anthony Braswell on October 13th, 2006, whom she remained married until her death. 

Throughout the 1980'S and 90'S, 

Joanne had a passion for entertaining where she sang, bartended and DJ, and was known by the name “Josie Wells”. As a result of her outgoing, generous and kind spirit, she was loved by many and known for giving to those in need. Her home at 8th street was always welcoming to any and everyone. Joanne was an active devoted member of Visions of Missions Tabernacle Church, until her untimely death on November 1st, 2021. Joanne loved the Lord, was a praying warrior and always extended her spiritual guidance to those who needed it most. “If you carry joy in you heart, you can heal any moment”

Her beautiful life will be cherished by the lives of her children. Sons; Galen, Terry, Reginald, and Earl, 2 daughters Talea and Krystal. 2 Son in laws, Mark and Chris,2 daughter in laws Tina and Sabrina. 2 sisters Wendy and Brenda, 2 brothers Keith and Edward; and one special brother Daryl “Butter” Beck. 1 Godson Mel and one special Goddaughter Jessica, 20 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
