Lorraine Elizabeth Burton was born November 24, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pa to the late John Henry Lundy and Georgia E. Lundy. Lorraine entered into eternal peace on April 7, 2022. She was affectionately known as Rainey.
Lorraine was educated in the Philadelphia school system and graduated from William Penn High school for Girls.
Lorraine was married in1965 to the late William Burton and in this union four children was born Kevin, Angelanette, Troy and Kimberly.
Lorraine attended New Hope Outreach Center and was faithfully given the title Church Mother. Mother Lorraine loved Chief Apostle Marva Strother, Apostle Michelle G. Pugh and her church family. Boy, she could play that tambourine. Lorraine was also a faithful member to the Women's of Purpose group that was founded by Vernell Morales.
In her spare time Lorraine loved to shop and would "squeeze a dollar until she made it holler". Lorraine would always brag about how she could find bargains. She also loved doing crossword puzzles, going to bingo and was so excited about going to church functions. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family where she would dance and sing to the oldies while telling her corny jokes. Lorraine loved to recite the Lord's prayer and the 23rd Psalm. Whenever you were down, Lorraine would remind you that God is still in control and to hold on because it will get better.
Motherhood did not come with a handbook, but Lorraine definitely did her best to create memories with her children and she raised her children the best way that she knew how.
Lorraine leaves to mourn her children Angelanette, Troy, Kimberly and Kevin (who preceded her in death), grandchildren Aaron, Amirah, Ahmad, great grandaugther Autumn whom she adored, her siblings Billy, Elaine, Clarence, her two brothers Johnny and Charles (who preceded her in death), nieces, nephews, cousins, inlaws and a host of close friends
