Margaret Estelle Kinnard was born to the late James and Jessie Latimore on October 19, 1941. She was the 7th child born to this union. Margaret was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System. Margaret worked in a uniform factory at Cintas and in the nursing field for a short period of time.
In 1985, Margaret married Isaac A. Kinnard, Jr, this union was blessed for thirty seven years. . Margaret was the loving mother of five boys, whom she loved dearly. Margaret loved to “drag” her youngest child to Orleans Street when it was her turn to attend to her own mother.
Margaret had a passion for collecting and decorating her favorite things to collect were elephants. you would see them on display throughout her home. She enjoyed gathering with family and friends, and she would always have their back, even if they were wrong. Back in the day she could be seen with her late girlfriend (Barbara Thompson) shopping around the city
Margaret accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and enjoyed reading and learning the word of God and sharing God’s message to all while encouraging them to do the same. Margaret used to love Louise Williams morning radio program. She would faithfully listen to her every morning and recite Louise’s morning prayer verbatim. “Mother Margaret“or “Grandma Margaret” as she was affectionally called by everyone, was a devoted member of the Holy Ghost Evangelistic Church under the leadership of Pastor Belinda McClinton, until she was unable to attend.
On beautiful summer days you would see Margaret and Isaac (Ike), sitting on the front porch eating crabs or her pig feet enjoying each other’s company. My sisters Bernice, Rosie and Barbara, my brothers James (Cherry Wine), Robert, Earl and John, proceeded me in death, but I leave all of you here to celebrate my life and cherish my memories, my darling husband Isaac (Ike) Kinnard, my siblings Lurena, Gail, Joanne (Raymond), my loving boys Bryon, Clyde, Clarence, Isaac, Giorgio, grandchildren Taja, Malika, Bryon, Jr., Alonso (Juanita), great grandchildren Machi, Maliyah and Mylie, Seth and Aiden the 5900 Block of Beechwood Street, In addition she leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and many dear friends.
