Edna was born on July 14, 1946, to the late Lendora Haskins and Roy Wise Sr. She attended schools in Brooklyn, New York, and Virginia, where she graduated from Mary Nottingham Smith High School.
Edna later moved to Philadelphia, PA, where she found love and marriage twice and was blessed with children from these unions. She worked in the healthcare field for over 20 years before changing careers. For the last 24 years, Edna was employed by the State of New Jersey, Division of Aging Services, as a Customer Service Representative 3. A great listener and problem solver, she loved helping others, especially seniors or disabled callers, obtain information to help offset their costs for medication, gas and electric utilities, Medicare insurance, and hearing aids.
As the matriarch of her family, Edna was blessed to witness three generations of love and was cherished by all. Family gatherings always brought her joy, and she delighted in making sure everyone felt welcome and cared for. Among her greatest blessings was the privilege of raising her great-granddaughter, Rahonna. Their relationship was built on devotion, guidance, and unconditional love, and to Rahonna she will always remain a mother figure.
