Mozelle McCollough, affectionately known as “Doll” was born in Sparta, Georgia on March 20th, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Lee Brown Jr. and Daisy Pearson Brown. Doll was one of 15 born in this union. She was educated in the Hancock County School District. At a young age, Doll relocated to Philadelphia where she continued to live with her older siblings. While living in Philadelphia, she met and married William McCullough in 1955. Their union bared no children however together they raised an adopted daughter Francine and three adopted grandchildren: Michael, Timothy and Jennifer.
Doll had a very generous heart. Because of this, it was no surprise her profession soon became caregiver to many offering support from respite care, to college students and family members alike. She often extended her home to anyone in need of support. Doll dedicated her life to Christ at an early age. She was a long-standing member for over 40 years at Bibleway Baptist Church of Mt. Airy where she served on various auxiliaries until she was no longer able to do so. Doll was an avid shopper who loved fashion, cooking and interior decorating. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
In 2018, Doll’s health started to decline. Although she became ill, she remained upbeat and her presence still commanded attention. After being discharged from her care facility, Doll’s primary focus was to be happy and live life to the fullest.
In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by thirteen siblings. On November 8, 2021 God and his infinite wisdom called Doll home. Her memory will forever be cherished by her sisters Margaret Dent and Essie Chatman along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
