On March 14, 1991, the first and most beautiful baby girl of Vashonda Davis and Phillip Jerrido was born. Adored by both grandmothers, she was named Philleshia Patricia Audrey Davis. Spending the beginning of her childhood on 22nd Street, she attended Fredrick Douglas and Pratt Elementary Schools. The Real Family Home, which she would unknowingly inherit later in life, was on 19th and Susquehanna. From milestone birthdays, to sneaking out to parties and meeting Wayne, the father of her two children Duan and Malaysia, 19th street became her true forever home.
Philleshia had many friendships and extended family from drill team, schools, and workplaces. Graduating from George Washington High School in 2009, she got her first job at Rite Aide and later furthered her career caring for others at Woods and The School District of Philadelphia. To know Lesh was to LOVE her. She was quiet but had a heart of gold and a personality that anybody could vibe with. She was the sweetest person you could meet but don’t let the sweetness fool you! She wasn’t the one to play with! If you ever caught the wrath of Lesh you knew it was over! And if she loved you, you never had to question her loyalty because she always was trustworthy and ready to ride out if needed.
Philleshia’s life wasn’t always fair. She’s lost important relatives, struggled with many things, and sometimes lost sight of her bright future but she was determined to overcome those challenges and had a large support system behind her. She traveled on to join her grandmothers, Patricia Davis and Audrey and cousin George Smith Jr, to continue her forever journey.
Lesh’s life was never without love and support. The most important people that stood behind her was her amazing mother Duchess who stood 10 toes down for her “Pooh”. No matter what she wanted or needed, her mom was always there no matter if she wanted her to or not. The bond they had was unique and inseparable. Even when she started a family of her own, Lesh was and will always be Duchess’ baby girl and everybody knew it. Her brother Rubin also played an important role in her life. He wasn’t only a brother, he was her protector and always a phone call away when she needed him. Her father Phil also played an important part in her life, maintaining a consistent presence and father daughter relationship.
Philleshia leaves to cherish her fond memories: her children’s father, Wayne; her children Malaysia “Ma Lady” and Duan “Mr. Lee”; parents, Vashonda (Allen) and Phillip (Freneic), and (bonus mom) Deshawn; brother, Rubin and Step-brothers, Jahlil and Kenny; sisters, Paige, Latasha and Step-sisters, Sequoya, Samiah, and Madison; aunts, Terri, Angel, Shanika, Esther (Willie), Yolanda, Eugenia, Danielle, Seal, and Cassandra; uncles, Anthony and Eugene; nephews, Syhair, Tajh, and Zakee; nieces, Hasiyah and NuNu, and a host of cousins and friends.
