Stephanie Lynn Gordy was born on June 21, 1965, to Brenda Ann Gordy and Joseph Gordy in Philadelphia, PA. Stephaine was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System and graduated from Lamberton High School in 1938.
Stephaine was very family oriented. She had a passion for family gatherings, and she was exceptional at cooking. When she was in the kitchen, she cooked with love and prepared food to perfection. Stephaine gave birth to the love of her life, her one and only son Brenden Steven Williams-Gordy on May 09, 1994. Stephaine was a woman of God and a longtime active member at Sharon Baptist Church.
Stephaine was employed with UCP (United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia) and had a 30-year career with this company. She wore multiple hats as a House manager and then Head house manager, then promoted to Division 2 Director at the time of her retirement. Stephaine was a blessing to her clients and made their dreams come true. Stephaine made it possible for her clients to travel and go on vacations to Atlantic City, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Ocean City Maryland. Stephanie always had a desire to be her own boss. She opened and operated her own daycare from 1988-1992 while also holding down a full-time job.
Stephaine was the glue that bonded the family together. Her big loving heart, saucy temperament, funny sense of humor, and straightforward personality will truly be missed. Stephaine embraced and expressed her motherly instincts to everyone under her, especially her brother Steven. Her words of wisdom and guidance helped groom and shape the younger generation into the adults you see today.
Stephaine departed this life peacefully on Christmas morning to join her grandparents Herbert and Victoria Eugene, her father Joseph Gordy and Her God- Daughter Shavalier Green-Carter.
Stephaine leaves beautiful memories to be cherished by her loving son, Brenden S. Williams-Gordy, her mother, Brenda Ann Eugene, brother Steven H. Gordy, sister- in law Ali Whitaker, Her loving Nephews Xavier and Christian Gordy. Her Aunts, Barbara (Don) Barber, Vicky Eugene, Beverly Eugene, and Louise Bazemore. Her Cousins Jermaine and Jhana Rogers, Shannon Risco (Julian, Julian Jr., Jrue Risco), Sonia Eugene, Holly Harris (Jordan and Holland) and a God- Daughter Anahj M. Rogers. Three special friends Sharlene, Shavalier, and Ernestine. Her beloved pet Sammy and a host of relatives and friends.
