Allen Bostic Jr., was born in Lumberton, North Carolina to the late Allen Bostic, Sr., and Geneva Pridget Bostic on November 24, 1940. He was educated in the Roberson County school system also located in Lumberton North Carolina.
As a young man growing up, he attended the The First Baptist Church in Roberson County under the guidance of the late Dr. E. B. Turner, who he loved to hear teach the Word of God.
Deciding it was time to move forward he relocated to Philadelphia, Pa where he met and married the love of his life, Ulla Thomas. He worked for the Philadelphia Gas Works for 33 years until he retired in 2001.
As they raised their family they joined Friendly Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. J.N. Lavender. Allen joined the Male Chorus which was one of his passions. “He would always talk about how much he loved singing with the guys”.
He also was a member of the Trustee Board which gave him great joy. He served on the Male Chorus and Trustee Board until his health began to fail.
Allen departed this life on August 12, 2022.
He leaves behind a wife, Ulla Thomas Bostic, five children, Timothy McMillan, Rodney Allen Bostic, Marsha Burton, Fred Wilcox, and Viola Erwin. Daughter in Law, Dorothy Wilcox and a brother in law, Claude McNear, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
